Tim Carne
As a lifelong Maryland resident, Tim has been advising clients on their personal and institutional finances since 1998. During that time, He has seen the markets go up, down and sideways; through it all he has maintained his focus on navigating clients towards the achievement of their own unique goals. His area of specialty is the construction and management of custom investment portfolios. He believes every portfolio is like a fingerprint, uniquely created for that individual or institution. He builds and manages his client’s portfolios based on their specific goals and needs, with a focus on controlling risk. It is his opinion that this type of personalized approach is superior to the cookie-cutter, one size fits all solutions that are so prevalent today. Tim began his career as an advisor at a major regional bank. He worked with many of the bank’s top private clients and institutions, both individually and as part of a wealth management team. After 8 years at the bank, he moved on to one of the largest Wall Street firms. He expanded his knowledge and experience in managing portfolios there for 6 years before moving to SFG Wealth Management. Independence has provided the ideal platform in which to provide independent advice and guidance for his clients. Tim studied business administration with a focus in finance at the University of Maryland and received my Certified Investment Management Analyst® designation from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife Angie and his sons, Jason and Nick.
